Advent swap.

Hello lovlies, how are you, well I hope?   On Sunday we put up our Christmas tree, its Miss T's birthday  on Friday and We've always put the tree up for her since She was small.

A while back I signed up for lovely LaaLaa's Christmas Advent swap (http://hookinwithlaalaa.blogspot.co.uk/  ). I was partnered with Sarah from Squiggling about  http://squigglingabout.blogspot.co.uk/ and We agreed to do 12 small gifts, one every other day until Christmas Day.
My first lovely gift was sewing notions.  They are so lovely and I'm going to keep these goodies for a quilt. I love the paper Santa bags, Sarah packed up the gifts in too, so cute.
The 2nd gift I opened today was a selection of lovely old Ladybird books.
Thank you so much Sarah I love them.

I've wanted a Welsh dresser for ages and have serious dresser envy on lots of ladies blogs ;0)  I've been looking out for a bargain one all year but haven't found one yet.
I do however have a plate rack in the kitchen which I decided to Christmassy up a bit. I made some little felt bunting and put up some little Christmassy nik nak s and star fairy lights!
I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

I've managed a few grannies here and there and am making it wider, up to 106!

And as I turned My back...

Jack and Rosie got comfy :o)

I'll leave You with a piccie of  My Birthday flowers, they have opened out beautifully  :)

Thank you always for Your sweet messages they really make My day.
Wishing you a wonderful week ahead xxxxx

  3. What a lovely tradition to start, to have the christmas tree up in time for Miss T's birthday and it looks lovely. It never feels like the christmas season until the tree goes up!

I understand your dresser envy, I suffer from the same thing but you are one step closer with that fabulous plate rack xx

  12. I love the idea of advent swaps. Makes Christmas all the more exciting. We have a plate rack too and I would love to decorate ours to make it as beautiful as yours but unfortunately the Best Beloved is a real Baa Humbug man and wouldn't appreciate the effort. Philippa xx

  19. I love your plate rack and it looks very festive! Christmas is such a fun time but decorating takes time. It is good to attach things to a tradition like your DD's birthday to put up the tree. It moves things along well.

Congratulations on the extra squares for your Granny. It is coming along nicely. I have not posted my snowflake afghan lately as it is so much of the same photos. I have almost the 59 done but want to continue and make it bigger I think. Hope to share it soon as I want it done for Christmas...

    Hugs from Holland ~

  21. What fun the advent swap is - wish I had taken part. The little books are so sweet and indulgent - hope you read them to yourself sometimes. I like dressers and plate racks too - I do have a dresser and always plan to paint it in a distressed kind of way then never find time. I think our homes are completely a reflection of us, don't you? Your plate rack is a lovely way to display pretty things. Betty
